Womens Day April 19, 2026
The Women's Day Worship Service at St. Paul Union American Methodist Episcopal Church was a joyful and Spirit-filled celebration centered on faith, commitment, and the unwavering love of God. From the opening prayer to the powerful message, the service reminded everyone that God's presence brings hope, strength, and purpose.
The morning began with a heartfelt prayer asking God to bless every person in attendance and to fill the sanctuary with His Holy Spirit. The congregation then lifted their voices in praise with the beloved hymn "I'm So Glad Jesus Lifted Me," setting an atmosphere of gratitude and worship.
The congregation was warmly welcomed as Women's Day was celebrated with the reminder that although the skies were cloudy outside, "the Son of God is shining in our hearts." Worshippers were encouraged to enter God's gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, reflecting on His goodness and everlasting mercy.
Throughout the service, many women of the church participated in leadership, demonstrating the gifts God has placed within them. Scripture, prayer, music, and worship were all led by faithful women who served with grace and confidence. The Women's Day theme, "Consistently Committed Women Focusing on God," was drawn from 1 Corinthians 15:58, reminding believers to remain steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord.
A special moment of the service was the recognition of Mother Janie Culler, the church's beloved senior member at 105 years old. Her lifelong faithfulness and dedicated service, particularly as an usher, were celebrated with a presentation in appreciation of her remarkable example of commitment to God and the church.
The congregation was also blessed by the ministry of guest speaker Minister Ivory Blount, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging believers to remain steadfast in their faith regardless of life's challenges. Using the examples of Ruth and Rizpah from Scripture, she reminded everyone that consistent commitment requires perseverance, faithful action, and complete trust in God. She challenged the women to stand firm, protect what God has entrusted to them through prayer, and encourage one another as sisters in Christ. Her message emphasized that true strength is found not in human ability but in standing firmly on the solid Rock, Jesus Christ.
The service also included special offerings to support missions and the guest speaker, demonstrating the congregation's commitment to generosity and ministry beyond the church walls. Visitors were warmly welcomed, church announcements highlighted opportunities for worship, Bible study, fellowship, and community outreach, and everyone was invited to continue growing together in faith.
Women's Day was more than a celebrationāit was a powerful reminder that God calls His people to remain faithful, serve with joyful hearts, and encourage one another in love. As the congregation departed, they were challenged to continue living as consistently committed disciples, trusting God through every season and allowing their lives to reflect His grace and glory.
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." ā 1 Corinthians 15:58
