St. Paul UAME Church Celebrates 179 Years of Faith, Fellowship, and Service

New Haven, CT — St. Paul Union American Methodist Episcopal Church proudly celebrated its 179th Church Anniversary, September 18–20, 2026, with a weekend of faith, fellowship, reflection, and thanksgiving. Under the inspiring theme “This Far… By Faith,” the celebration honored the church's rich history, its commitment to serving the community, and the generations who have helped build its lasting legacy.

The anniversary festivities began on Friday, September 18, with a special youth presentation, “St. Paul's Best: The Next Generation.” The evening highlighted the importance of nurturing the next generation of Christian leaders and celebrating the gifts, talents, and contributions of the church's young people.

On Saturday, September 19, the celebration continued with a Community Lunch and Outreach event. The gathering provided an opportunity to extend Christian love, strengthen community relationships, and share fellowship with neighbors and friends.

The weekend concluded on Sunday, September 20, with a special Anniversary Worship Service. The congregation welcomed Bishop Adolphus Scott Jr. as the guest speaker for this historic occasion. Under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Stephen Randall and Co-Pastor Rev. Kay Randall, the church came together to give thanks for 179 years of God's grace, guidance, and blessings. A fellowship luncheon followed the worship service.

The anniversary theme, inspired by James 2:18, served as a reminder that faith is demonstrated not only through words but also through acts of love, service, and commitment to others.

For 179 years, St. Paul UAME Church has remained a place of worship, spiritual growth, and community connection. As the church looks toward the future, it continues to embrace its mission of sharing God's Word, strengthening families, and preparing the next generation to carry the legacy forward.

179 Years Strong — This Far… By Faith, and Still Moving Forward!
